Automail

From Full Metal Alchemist d20

Automail has become a vital part of the world sense its first introduction finally people that had lost limbs in accidents, war, and disease have gained the ability to function again. Though it is hard to say that it wasn't seen for it's more martial application as many soldiers, thugs and indeed many cavilians began to incorporate many diffrent weapons into their new limbs

it is said that no two pices of automail are exactly alike and this is true considering the nature of automail the majority of parts one can choose from make each piece unique and automail must be fitted to the stump or body of its intended user making each part a custom job most automail mechanics try to match their products with their intended user's body type (muscular, thin, lithe) and thus create a mechanical piece of art the costs of automail can sometimes outweigh the benefits as the basic units are ment to carry our basic functions and are barely more capable than their primitive counterparts such as the hook and peg leg and many mechanics keep a surplus of mechanical limbs of lower quality that are neither as strong as accual limbs nor as dexterious but will be made to withstand prolonged use under normal circumstances
