The basic idea is to have several classes that deal with alchemy (as magic), several that are fighters, and a rogue class. The goal is to be able to recreate any character in the series, plus characters that are in the spirit of it, and to be able to form stable adventuring parties... not to translate d20 (-modern, std, -past) classes into Amestris. We want to encourage cross-classing.

Prestige Classes

There are several prestige classes available within the game as well. Prestige classes represent specialization and often membership or advancement in a group within the world. Receiving a level in a prestige class often involves backstory and in-game explanation, so you will need to work with your GM before taking levels in these classes.

  • State Alchemist - generally combat alchemists, but available to freelance alchemists and possibly 'subtle classes'. requirements - Qualification Exam, annual Assessment, various feats or skill levels. benefits - the pocket watch, access to in-setting resources. ex. Roy Mustang, Alex Louis Armstrong, Edward Elric, Kimbley, Shou Tucker, Basque Gran
  • Red Stone Homunculus - a racial prestige class that should not generally be allowed for PCs. ex. Lust, Envy, Greed, etc. See RSH Prestige Class
  • Investigator - soldier that specializes in detective work. requirements - Soldier class, various feats or skill levels. benefits - access to restricted information, able to make investigations on certain locations, added skill bonuses. ex. Hughes
