What is the currency?

I believe it is Gold, because in the Miner Town episode (forget what one, an early one) Ed transmutes lots of gold to buy the town..

In Makoto Inoue's novels of Fullmetal Alchemist, in which he thanks Hiromu Arakawa in the Afterwords for 'taking time out of her busy schedule' to help him, he spells it sens (plural). In volume 2, The Abducted Alchemist, Roy receives a ransom letter that states, "If you want your son back, you will arrange the payment of 20 million sens" on page 115. --Steph
