Talk:Religion
From Full Metal Alchemist d20
There are also two other religions that can be found in Amestris as well as the ones mentioned earlier, but they're just not as well known ...
Washiri
In Episode 36, Lejon prays to a god named "Washiri." Well, thats the name he called upon in the fan sub, so it could be different in the dubbed, but possibley not (as he also uses "God" as well in the sub I watched). My guess is that its probably a religion only the people within the small village with the infectious Fossil Disease practice (afterall, they do seem pretty cut off from the rest of modern society)
Christianity?
Dante talks about an old dead religion in Episode 44 where many people were killed due to heresy. Izumi also speaks of a dead religion that used the "birth of Christ" (BC and AD) as a way to keep track of the years (I forgot the episode, I'll come back to edit this once I find it). Both characters are mentioning, most likely, Christianity.
In Episode 10 however, Clara, as one of her many occupations in the episode, becomes a Nun in which is a Christian Church (she even mentions "God" in it, and a cross is seen on the structure). So, the issue with this is either that there is an inconsistancy with the series, or that Izumi and Dante could be speaking of an entirely different religion that is somewhat related to Christianity.
If its simply an inconsistancy (which is my best guess), then it is really up to the author of the RPG as to whether its alive or dead in Amestris. If its the latter, then Christianity should be kept and then a brief mentioning of the "dead religion" should be made with what little is known of it.
