From Full Metal Alchemist d20

This is a rough timeline of the known history of Amestris and the world of Full Metal Alchemist.

Since the manga provides many more details, this is the manga timeline, though points where the anime differs are noted.

Years are given from Ed's birth-- Before Ed (BE) and Year of Ed (YE). He likes it that way ... and we don't have any other reference. Actual years obtained from the FMA:DS game (Game gives exact date that Ed & Al burn down home (Oct. 3, 1910) and leave) -Qwazzerman

(It would be really nice to know how long the Fuhrer had been in power when Ed comes along, as that would be years-relative-to-Amestris.)

Years in italics are uncertain and need citation/reference.

1899	Ed is born. (month?)
1900	Al is born. (month?)
1904-1905	Hoh. Elric leaves his family in Resembool.
1905-1909	Ed and Al begin Studying Alchemy.
1909	Trisha Elric dies.
1910	October 3rd - Ed and Al burn down their home and leave Resembool.
"	Ed and Al begin to train with Izumi Curtis pror to attempting human transmutation to resurrect their mother. Roy Mustang invites the boys to apply for the State Alchemist Program.
1913	Ed takes the State Alchemist exam and the brothers begin searching for the Philosopher's Stone.
1914	The brothers Elric depose Father Cornello in Lior. Envy assumes his role in disguise.
1915	Rebellion breaks out in Lior and is crushed by the military.
